An unauthorized change has been made to windows, that may affect functionality

Question
-
Upon startup, an error box says that an unauthorized change has been made and advises that it may affect functionality. I am able to access the internet through an option on the box. I have no start menu, but I was able to access cmd.exe through the address bar, but when I try to enter "net start slsvc", the fix as prescribed by a previous query of the same kind, a box tells me that "not enough quota is available". What does this mean and what can I do?Friday, April 15, 2011 9:34 PM

You should keep your PC better updated :) Reduced functionality Mode disappeared in SP2.To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
The 'Not enough quota' message is relatively rare lately, and isn't directly related to your non-genuine problem (it usually disappears eventually of its own accord after a reboot or two - when it doesn't, then suspect malware)

I have the same problem and your answer adds insult to injury. My PC is totally updated and I don't know what went wrong, but worse yet, trying to fix it is SO EVASIVE !! Every link I clicked on must have been outdated and Microsoft is no longer supporting it. I downloaded your fancy tool and ran it...so what ? who do I give this information to ? How do I fix this issue ?
"copy the report to your response" RESPONSE TO WHOM ???
Microsoft no longer has a telephone system for fixing license issues, there are no email links, who do you call ????

You create your OWN, NEW thread, and post the report in that - with details of your own problem.
