    I have Acer notebook with valid product key on behind of my notebook, but now i installed new windows but not with original acer cd. now at the startup told me you must be activate, when i try to by telephone and type my product key, it accept and then i choose remind me, restarted windows but still ask me for activation. i should to tell you that i changed some value on oobetimer, and i dont know what i did change.please help me.

    Hello Parm_79,

    Changing the value in the oobe timer registry key is meant to be used with Volume Licensing editions of XP.

    Your best option IMO is to contact Acer to get the right Recovery Disc for your computer and use it to cleanly install XP.
