Unexpected Error when Windows Live session times out RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the previous release, when your Windows Live session timed out, post controls would stop working.
In this release, you get an "unexpected error".

Is there a reason why, when you're still signed into Windows Live (I can still access and refresh hotmail and the like), the forums login has to keep timing out?  It's a pain in the neck.

  • Trust me, we know all to well about the various flavors of this.. Especially the Sign out at the top and Sign In on the right version :) It's definitely something we want to take care of, we to update the expired passport cookie just haven't had time too dedicate on this one.

For errors, it'll get better over time. Just need to balance showing informative detail when and where it makes sense without going overboard. Some infratstructure is already in place we just need to improve it over the next several releases.

  • It the exact same problem there always was before.  It took me a while to diagnose too.  But every error is now an "unexpected error".  Pretty accurate message, I didn't expect it.
