  • Your installation is non-genuine.

The machine was manufactured a year before Windows 7 was released, and cannot therefore support the installation of an OEM_SLP Key or the OS from a Recovery disk.

You will either have to purchase a new license for Windows 7, or revert back to the original Windows Vista install.

  • It's actually not from a recovery disk - it was a purchased license. I have the product key from the purchase license. What can I do to validate it?

  • Where did you purchase the license from? - if you bought it without accompanying software, it's counterfeit. If the software that did accompany it is labelled as Dell, it's counterfeit.

Use the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page to change the Key to the one you have, and activate that - post a new MGADiag report afterwards.

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.
