Suddently cannot access WHS Share or connect to console RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently rebuilt my MediaSmart WHS machine since the power supply failed.  Seemed to be working perfectly and then I came to my client machine and noticed that the WHS icon was grey and I couldn't connect.  Furthermore, when I tried to access any WHS shares, I was prompted for username and password, and when I typed my username and password, I got an authentication error - username or password not valid.  After several tries, I recieved the lockout message.

I was able to connect via RDP and remove the account lock, but I have been unable to access shares or the WHS console from the client machine (works fine when I'm RDP'ed in).

I looked at the FAQ about connection issues and it doesn't apply.

I've rebooted, done net use * /delete, reset my ipconfig, and nothing seems to change.  I have DHCP enabled, and I can ping the server (as well as obviously RDP).

Any other ideas on how to resolve?
