I can't write anything in the "Body" section in these forums with IE9

Question

I actually had to use Chrome just to post this message! I set IE9 to open all websites in compatibility view and then restarted the browser. I still can't write in the body section. Any ideas what is going on?
fwiw, IE9 is my preferred browser. I only keep Chrome around for when a website doesn't work properly with Internet Explorer.

Correct. If others are not having the same issue, then this thread has been resolved, imo. Thank you for trying to help me.

I'm having the same problem - when trying to post a reply with IE9, I'm not getting a WSYIWYG reply view and the submit button doesn't submit the reply. I've also needed to open this website in Firefox to actually be able to post this reply.
Kind regards,
Dave.

Did you try using the HTML button first? Ironically with Chrome I often have to use the HTML button to give myself something outside a blockquote to write in. E.g. it is not impossible to write just impossible to write without getting the attributes of the blockquote.BTW that same issue (not having something outside a blockquote) is also happening in Answers 2.0 now in both browsers. But in Answers 2.0 there is no HTML button so we have to try to workaround it by using Ctrl-z or delete everything and start somewhere else.

If you mean the HTML button in the reply editor, then yes, I tried hitting that. When I try to reply on these forums with IE9, I am still unable to write anything at all in the reply box. So strange.
So, you get the HTML source window and still can't edit in it? You could use the IE Developer Tools Find tool to find out what you are getting. (F12, Ctrl-b, etc.) Compare with what you should be getting on another machine or another account. Also, you should try starting IE in No Add-ons mode. Run... iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff

I have tried this on multiple machines (all windows 7), all with the same result.
I ran iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff and it had the same result, which is not surprising b/c I don't use any Add-ons.
I'm not going to go through the page source code or use the developer tools because Chrome works just fine (for some reason). I'm posting here mainly to report the issue.
