Vista: Cannot install programs unless the installation executable in on system drive C: RRS feed

    Help needed:

    My Vista Home Basic suddenly changed its behaviour so that I cannot install any program unless the installation source is on the system=C: drive.

    Depending on the program to be istalled, I get messages varying:

    - setup cannot continue - to  - unable to create a temporary file -

    What can be done?
