CRM 4 IFD question. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to build a CRM development environment using Oracle VirtualBox running Windows 2003 Enterprise Sever. I have installed all of the components that I need (AD, DNS, IIS and CRM) but cannot get it to run in IFD mode. I installed CRM using a config file with the IFD settings included. I have also used the IFDTool to check the DNS. The CRM runs, but the IFD just won’t kick in. It keeps bringing up the "Windows Security" login dialog before continuing on to the CRM web page.

The things that I have checked so far are:

    1.     I have gone through the documentation and checked that the Database, Registry, and web.config file were updated.

    2.     I have updated the “hosts” file on the host computer to point to the CRM Organization.

    3.     I have made sure that the web site is set up for anonymous access.

    4.     I have rebooted the Server and Host machines.

What else can I check or might have missed?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for responding. I did finally figure out what I missed and got it working. I should have added to my post that I was trying to set up a host-only dev environment. I mistakenly gave the <IFDInternalNetworkAddress> the same subnet mask that I was using to access the CRM server with. Changed the subnet and it immediatly kicked into IFD authentication.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

If you will add the IP address and subnet of the domain in IFD Tool then CRM will detect the access from the LAN and perform windows authentication, if you want to test the IFD access then either you need to remove th IP address and Subnet of domain or have to access CRM from external public IP address (try access from outside of LAN)
