  • Hello warfightr,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 103 Blocked VLK
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 - 101 Not Activated
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

At the moment your Dell OptiPlex 960 computer has two installations of Office.

    a.  Office Enterprise 2007 is reporting as a nongenuine volume licensing installation that was done with a blocked volume licensing product key.

    b.  Office Professional 2007 is reporting as a not yet activated installation.

The nongenuine Office is causing the nongenuine notices to be displayed on your screen.  To correct this:

    1.  From the Add or Remove Programs applet of Control Panel, uninstall the nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007.
    2.  Restart the computer twice.
    3.  Open an Office Professional 2007 program such as Word 2007.  You should be presented with the Activation Wizard.  If so, activate normally.  (If no Wizard, click the Office button, then Word Options, then Resources, then click the Activate [Word][Office] button.  After activation, restart.
    4.  Visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Office button.  Restart once more.
    5.  Next, open an Office program such as Word 2007. At this point you should not be seeing nongenuine notices and should be able to use all Office programs normally.
    6.  However, if you do continue to see nongenuine notices, that means there are remnants of the nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007 installation that have to be cleaned up.  Continue with the steps to clean up.
    7.  From the nongenuine notice, click on the Learn More Online link to go to a Microsoft informational web page.  In the background, the OGA Notifier is being reset and is forced to recheck your validation status.  Give the check a little time to work.
    8.  Close the web page, restart the computer, then open Word 2007 and check for nongenuine notices.  If no notice, the recheck worked.
    9.  If continued notices, close the notice.
    10.  Go to this MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919895 and work your way thru the Methods.  Usually the items checked in Methods 1 and 2 are OK.  In Method 3, run the MS FixIt to delete the Office license file.
    11.  After running the FixIt, restart, then open Word 2007 and if necessary, reactivate.
    12.  After opening Word and reactivating if necessary, close Word and revisit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button.
    13.  After validation, open Word 2007 and check to make sure there are no more nongenuine notices.

Please come back here to let us know how you did.

  • Dan,

You solved it.  Your instructions were perfect.  Thanks for finally solving this longstanding problem.  I wish that I could somehow return the favor.

  • Dan,

I wish that I could somehow return the favor.

So do I, for all the effort he has put into the forums over the last 3 (or more) years.
