Everything looks fine in the validation but nothing is shown in the firewall logs.

Suggested Resolution: Use the maximum hop count to determine the server that generated this error. For example, if the maximum hop value is 2, then it is likely that this error was generated by a server that is 1 (immediate target) or 2 hops away. Check whether the target user is a valid user and that the target user domain is trusted by the source user's pool. Check the connectivity between the source and target pools.
Suggested Resolution: Check connectivity between servers.
Attempting to establish SIP dialog: Processing failed as one or more steps did not complete successfully

Well everything seems to work fine so I don’t know why I still get this error message?

  • Make sure the correct ports are open from your edge to your server.

  • Its an lab enviroment so all servers are on the same ipnet and no firewall between.

    So everything should be opened....

  • Are both accounts that you are using for this validation enabled and configured for OCS?

  • I too am having a similar problem. I am now the only one who can establish a session, but after the session is established, the person I chat with can send messages too. Any idea what I can do to solve it?

I had the same problem, took me a while to figure out there is a bug in the IM Filter. I had to reset to default the filter and restart the service to make it work. I tried different config nothing was working until I reseted to default.

  • I'm not sure what happened, but it does seem to be fixed for me now. It just started working again suddenly. Strange.

  • Resetting the filter to Default Settings and restarting services works here.

  •

right click enterprise pools, application properties, intelligent IM filter, there is a restore to defualts button on the bottom left.

Has anyone seen a confirmation/hotfix/ANYTHING from Microsoft on this?
