How to make SyncToy 2.1 ignore last file access changes? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I access my usb external harddrive on several computers.  I only sync between my home and one work computer.  Some of the other computers I access the drive from seem to have NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate set to 0, and I cannot change these computers (no permission, as it should be).  Trouble is now SyncToy wants to update files that were only accessed, but were not changed in any other way (for example I played a powerpoint slideshow but did not alter the file in any way).

Question: can Synctoy be set to ignore file access?

WinXP sp3 at home, various on other computers files are access-only

This seems like a serious bug to me.  Thousands of files on computers are accessed with each boot up and use, but few are actually changed.  Shouldn't SyncToy ignore last access time by default?
