Can't locate the project! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

There's a project at Research I stumbled upon a while ago that's somewhat like ICE (which I use and really enjoy - http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=mdfjrs&content=Synths), but has a major difference:

Rather than standing stationary, you could walk around an object and take lots of pictures. The viewer would then stitch the photos together and allow you to "walk around" the object and zoom in for greater detail.

Now that I have an actual use for this, I can't for the life of me find it again!

Can anyone recall which project this is?

    TIA!

    Mike

  • See this page for the different options available for authoring to Photosynth http://photosynth.net/about.aspx  One is panoramic images, the other is the 3D "synths" that you describe.

  • Oh for kripes sake - it was right under my nose!

I was using Photosynth to upload and view my panos, but I didn't realize a "synth" is the thing I had seen several months back. I even remembered the video of the woman walking around that ugly rusting object taking photos!

    Much thanks!
