Regsvr32 Not Working On 2008 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to register a Com (dll) on Windows Server 2008 R2. The COM is 32 bit so I understand that I need to go to the command prompt as an Administrator, and run from the c:\Windows\syswow64\regsvr32---- File path C:\testcom\testcom.dll. I have done this before and had no issues this is a brand new server with 2008 installed this week and the error message comes up

"The module c:\testcom\testcom.dll may not be compatible with the version of windows you are running. Check if the module is compatible with x86(32Bit) or x64 (64bit) versions of REGSVR32.

I have access to another 2008 R2 and have absolutely no issues.

    Thanks  Nick
