301 to non-www not working on my site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I've been waiting for msn for almost two month to crawl my non-www url but still the bot continues to crawl my www. I'm using this 301 command on my htaccess

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.cheappromotionalproducts\.biz$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://cheappromotionalproducts.biz%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
    ErrorDocument 404  http://cheappromotionalproducts.biz

I'm not sure why msn bot love my www. Also just yesterday I added a sitemap to help the proper indexing, though I'm not sure if this help because I only have 7 pages on my static site.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Eli,

I notice that we have a mix of both the www and non-www, so it looks like it might just need some time for the robot to accept the 301 is permanent (it is not an instantaneous process) and reindex under the non-www version.
