Forum Moderator Request RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have for a long time been thinking about how I could contribute more to the MSDN/Technet forums apart from answering questions and doing Wiki work. Since SharePoint is my main technology and the new 2013 Preview is out,  I have requested to contribute as a moderator on the 2013 Preview forums while they are still in their infancy and lack moderators from the community. I'd be happy to to the same job on the SharePoint 2010 forums as well, but on the other hand I feel that's less urgent since the group of  experienced moderators contributing there is  doing an excellent job.  So instead I'm opting for the Previews not only as a motivation to start digging deeply intol the new interesting stuff, but also to  help others finding their ways into the new jungle of new functionality.

I'm in my 40's, and have been working as a software developer, architect and project manager since the Windows 95 days, including 7 years with SharePoint.  I feel that the mix of experience and interest in other people gives me a solid fundament for volunteering for the moderator job. In my eyes, the moderator role is both about treating users in a professional and courteous manner,  AND being highly skilled in my favourite technologies.

To track the progress of my request , Ed Price has asked me to post this thread here.
