Gpano tag insertion please. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have loaded ICE output into a Google+ Photo Album to see if it would project as a Google Sphere. It did not. Please have ICE insert Gpano tags. Thanks.

  • We'll take a look at adding this feature.

I might also suggest that you reach out to Google to support ICE. Every panoramic image exported from every version of ICE and Windows Live Photo Gallery for the last 7 years has embedded pano tags:

  • Hi Matt, thanks for willing to take my request into consideration. May I add that I feel that adding the Gpano tags would fit into the new, overwhelming cross platform strategy of Microsoft. It will support the aim in having people love Microsoft again. I do understand your feeling about welcoming Google to support Microsoft standards. I bet that your observation of current reality is the same as mine, that contrary to the new Microsoft, Google is not offering cross platform support, but I will keep it in mind as at the moment I cannot think of an effective contact point with Google.

Thanks for the references. I had no idea ICE and Photo Gallery were adding pano tags. The technicalities of your references go beyond my comprehension, but I am sure others will appreciate it.

I am in support of the requests made on the Photosynth Preview forum for ICE to support the .pano format.

Also, I feel that devices as the upcoming Giroptic 360Cam may change the playing field considerably. Such cameras might become as disruptive to consumer photography as smartphones have been and still are. Thanks.
