How to set time for execute a function ;If function exceed the time it should come to the next state ment after function?

  hi all,
   I wanted to make ASP.Net C# application.In that i encounter need where i need to set timeout for a function.If function take more than 40 sec for execution than it should rais exception.If any body can help regarding the same,Please reply.
