INotifyingChangeApplierTarget.GetNextTickCount - What is it used for by the framework? RRS feed

  • Question

  • When implementing a custom provider (specifically a change applier) I wonder what the GetNextTickCount is used for by the framework. It's specified in the INotifyingChangeApplierTarget interface, but I haven't quite figure out when it would be called. If I throw an Exception all my tests pass anyhow, as if the method is never called (I checked failed sync items where 0).

Anybody know what or when it is used?

    Regards,
    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

In the event of conflicts, the engine will call your provider's GetNextTickCount implementation. Without this, your provider will not be able to resolve or propagate meaningful conflicts...
