Quick Find in Products returns to much results RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a CRM 2015 Product Catalogue  there a two products named

    • Pro-1
    • Pro-2

If I do a quick finde search for Pro-1, both products will be returned. Even if I use quotation to show that I want to search for a specific string, I get both records as result.

    Example:

    • "Pro-1" or
    • 'Pro-1'

Is there any way, to configure Dynamics CRM 2015 to return the correct result or is it an unfixed bug in the application?

  • Hi,

I think the reason for this is described in the following thread:

One option might be to create a new "search name" field - add that field to the "find columns" on the quick find view, remove original name field from the find columns, and, then, create a workflow which would be copying default "name" into that "new name" whenever a product is updated/created (+ on demand, to update all of the currently existing products). You don't have to display that new field on the form..
