After 3 years of my WHS system running, I've run into problems recently. I'm on WHS power pack 3 and XP (want a clean backup before upgrading to Windows 7). All of my storage drives are healthy according in the "server storage" tab.
I was originally getting network critical wrrors, and after going through a series of troubleshooting, decided to do a backup database repair. I continously get a "this computer has lost connection to your home server. check your network
connection and make sure your home server is powered on. then try to connect again" error. I've tried 2 different computers (one that is also connected into the router). Once I get the error, I'm logged out of the server, and I can immediately
get back in (does take longer than normal to get back in).
When I go to the backup tab in settings, I have an error "backup settings are not available" message. There is a link to "how to I correct the problem" which I've gone through (to the last step where it recommends to repair the backup database"
I'm willing to do a clean restore of the server (I'm not expecting to keep my old backups unfortunately). Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks a bunch.
