  • Dear Customer,

Thank you for using Microsoft Fix it Center (beta).

Is there a particular reason that led you to run the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter?

Selecting the "Recreate media library" option will delete the current media library. Before the deletion, the library gets backed up to a different folder. That way, even though you wouldn't be able to get at the media library from Windows Media Player, you would have the choice to manually restore it at a later time. However, if a back-up media library already exists, such back-up will be replaced by the current media library. In other words, if you apply the "recreate media library" fix more than once, your media library will be deleted from your disk. I'd recommend that you run a troubleshooter without selecting the automatic fix option so you get a chance to review the fixes.
