  • Question

  • On the opportunity entity, one can create a new Quote or add Line Item products.  What is the difference between the two?

  • Hi Christo,

An opportunity entity represents a potential sale to new or established customers
Each opportunity may have multiple products associated with it. An association between an opportunity and a product is represented in the Line Items.
If an opportunity is won, you may convert it to a quote, or to a sales order or an invoice. The Line Items that are included in an opportunity are added to a quote, a sales order, or an invoice during conversion.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

A line Item products can calculate total value of potential sales. Whereas quote is used by salesperson to inform the customer about price of products.
