Windows 7 Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was suspect of  a copy of windows 7 ultimate I bought on ebay, I installed it on a machine I did not care about when I went to activate, it activated OK and the genuine logo came up in computer properties.

Does this mean it is genuine/

Does this mean I can not install this product on the machine it was intended for even though I formated the and the product will not be on that machine drive.

I bought the disc, it was a full packaged product as I said it activated OK does this mean it is legit?

Please post the MGADiag report - without the details we have no hope of offering any advice.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • Please read this sticky on blocked keys, you can use the information in that post to determine if your key is an MSDN key. If you purchased a key only it is a certainty that it is not legal as you must have a COA or supporting email/invoice from MS or a or a company licensed for electronic distribution such as Dell or HP. Also if you purchased a key only it is most likely an MSDN key. If you purchased a full packaged product it also may be counterfeit.

This sticky advises on how to check for an MSDN key.

This sticky advises on how to generate a report, if you suspect it is an MSDN key then I advise you generate the report and paste it here, someone will verify the keys origin and you can use this thread as evidence when submitting a claim with paypal/ebay.
