The WPF folks have given up! What forum should I use now? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Well, I seem to have exhausted the knowledge base available in the WPF forum.  I'm not sure where to turn next.

I have a simple WPF/C# app I recently started building.  In that app, I have a User Control (UC) and a very simple app form that consumes that UC.

The whole thing compiles just fine and renders all objects correctly when run -- including the UC that the IDE cannot render.

When  I switch to Design view, the VS 2008 IDE complains that it "Could not create an instance of type "ProspectHeader1" -- which means that I cannot see the form in design view unless I comment out the UC declaration in the XAML for the consuming form.  The cs file for the UC only does the InitializeObject function -- nothing else (yet).

After a number of very kind exchanges in the WPF forum, with everyone seeing all the relevant code, the advice all boiled down to "Gee!  It should work"!   ... but it does not.

Is there a better forum for getting an answer to this question?

    Please advise.
