A bug in SyncToy? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all
A very strange thing happened on my computer and the problem is repeatable.
I have created a pair with the "Echo" option, i.e., update the files in the right folder with the left ones.  Once I have completed the syncronization process, then if I delete a file in any folder in the destination drive, and then if I run "Echo" again, I will be promted that there is nothing to update.  That is strange, since what I am expecting is, since I deleted then one in the destination, and if I run the process again, the deleted file should be copied back to the destination.
Has any one faces this problem and is this a bug in SyncToy 2.0?

  • see the Short Explanation for Echo:
"New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames and deletes on the left are repeated on the right."
So Echo is a left -to- right sync. If the next time left side changes then it will be copied again, even the right side is deleted. But the change on the right side will not result in the file to be synced again.
