crm 4 installation the specified active directory container is not valid RRS feed

  • When I point the installer to the Users folder it returns the following message

    the specified active directory container is not valid

    This is a windows 2008 Enterprise 64 bit server.

  • Are you referring to when you choose where to place the MSCRM user groups in the AD structure? If so, can you select the root AD element?

    Thereis a good article on installing on windows 2008 here. Also, make sure you select to download the latest update when beginning the install and a run the installer with a Domain Administator account.
