Unable to use format icon to format from existing entry

  My excel program has suddenly developed a couple of bugs.  1.  I cannot use the format icon to format new entries from an existing entry.   2. Entries that contain formulas cannot be copied into new entries.  The copy function now copies the numerical data instead of the formula.
