    i have a problem with my system.when i switch it on it is showing the hard disk follwed by name of the hard disk in BAD STATE.how do i correct this....i tried running the checkdisk in command prompt where it deleted some indexed files but the problem still persists......plzz help me out in this regard

    First you should use system restore to a back date when your computer was at a good state...

    Try to use disk Defragmenter..if it also fails... then re-install operating system....
