Proposal for recognition Matrix RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi
Congratulations on the difficult but important step to try to bring order to the system of recognition.
In addition to the suggestions made in previous post in this forum, I'll do another, which like all others, one could serve.
I guess you have a scoring matrix determined by the variables to consider in each case, but as it has come to public knowledge, I propose to publish with the exception that is adjusted monthly. Of course, not retroactive, not change the rules that have already made contributions.
This way you can solve for better conditions for participation of all recognition.

We do intend to publish the different activities and how those are driving points and achievements. We'll keep that list up to date once it's published. If the matrix is the best way to represent that, we'll certainly look to do that... (and perhaps work out whether to eat the red or green pill ;-)

  • Thank you for responding Sean

I missed a reference to an even more difficult to qualify, and how much effort involves a response in a forum or a blog or publication of the development of a code module or a sample project that meets a requirement.

I mean, is not the same answer: With Yes, this link has worked requiring or not that can not be responding in a paragraph. Such rapid responses are more desirable.

    VS

To give an answer to look and give a full explanation of how it is resolved or can not be solved that way a requirement and assessment of the quality of response.

Or a response including code that solves the requirement and the assessment of code quality.

Or a response included an entire project and assessing the quality of the project.

Also you can also find web sites that refer to a Microsoft product but the value in reality merely re transcribe the official product description, without adding value. While there are other sites without having to be very large, its contents are valuable contributions to the community that comes to them.

But however, all that are contributions but only one required more effort than others. For this would be important to know how you have defined recognition under these considerations.

    Regards

I missed a reference to an even more difficult to qualify but equally important, and quantify the quality and effort that involves a response in a forum or a blog or publication of the development of a code module or a sample project that meets a requirement.

I mean, is not the same answer: With SI, this link has worked which requires or is the video that will serve you a line or write code that will work. or it can not be done. Responding in a line or paragraph. Such rapid responses are more desirable to respond leaving out the answers require further work to deliver a response to look and give a full explanation of how to solve or because you can not resolve this as a requirement.

Likewise, a response that meets code included the requirement and the assessment of code quality, or a response with an entire project included.

They can also find web sites that refer to a Microsoft product but to assess its contents were in reality merely re transcribe the official product description, without adding value. While there are other sites without having to be very large, its contents are valuable contributions to the community that comes to them.

But however, all contributions are only one result in greater effort than others. For this would be also important to know what is the strategy that you defined for this type of measurement as part of recognition.

    Regards

  • See the existing Scoring Table here:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/ff395928.aspx#How_do_I_earn_points_

It's not much of a Matrix, but if you want to build a new Matrix/Table, you can create a new article for that purpose on TechNet Wiki.

    Hope this helps!

  • The typo should be fixed now. And localized versions are finally off being prepared for publishing.

This is way off topic, but Naomi, do you know Artem and Albina? Albina is leading our Russian Wiki efforts (to get/manage Russian content on the Wiki), and it would be great if you could be involved in that if you're interested. If you're interested, could you email me at edprice at microsoft?

    Thanks!
