SSL on CRM 4.0 environment RRS feed

    Hi,

    Looking forward for an assitance towards enabling SSL over Microsoft Dynamic CRM 4.0 environment. under our scenario we have configured multi server role. where we have given below setup:

    1) 4 App Servers (one NLB)

    2) 2 platform Servers (one NLB)

    3) 2 SSRS Servers (one NLB)

    4) 1 Email router

    5) 2 Database server under cluseter mode

    now we are looking forward to enable SSL over following environment, i need to know from which server i should generate CSR file and how to use Wildcard configuration? Do NLB play's any role towards generating CSR file?

    Please Suggest,

    Hi Yash

    Not sure about a multi server deployment, but SSL is usually be configured on the CRM virtual website in IIS. 

    On the website, you will need to add an https binding to the CRM website in IIS and associate the certificate with it.

    The certificate should have a subject that matches the URL that you use to login into CRM.  If you have IFD then you will need to use a wildcard certificate. Replace org with *. e.g. "*.domain.com:5555".  If IFD is not set up then the subject would look something like "CRMserver:5555".

    You can always use a SAN certificate that has 2 subjects.
