Calendar / Contacts integration suggestion

Question

One area that has only recently been surfacing that i've been wanting for years is an entirely integrated calendar and contacts. Really, your contacts should be integrated into everything the OS can do. One should be able to set appointments from a contact and make a contact out of a new appointment. Sounds simple right? Show where it's happening! HTC is doing some of it. It should be built in.Wednesday, November 11, 2009 3:03 AM

Yes, and Agenda Fusion & Agenda One do this beautifully (as I am sure other PIM applications do). I prefer Agenda One for this reason because no only does it include the phone number in the appointment, the number is "live", when I click it, my phone automatically calls the number.

Building this functionality into the default Contacts and Appointments application (and let's not forget Tasks too) would be great! But, until that happens, I use one of the many third party PIM applications to do this. I like Agenda Fusion for this reason (and lots of other reasons too), so even if this functionality is ever added to the default applications, I'll bet that I'll still use Agenda Fusion.

yeah you're right. The thing is business/productivity is the only thing that windows phone has left that makes em stand out. I got an Itouch and im realising that iphone is catching up. Microsoft need to sort out these minor things sooner rather than later or people will make the decision to buy a different brand with all the features they want instead of a phone they then have to pay $30 extra to get how they want. For the record I have a HTC Diamond 2 which I like but hate the fact that I still have to go into contacts and change names back to firstname-surname so I can find them :(Friday, November 13, 2009 12:48 PM -
I made a suggestion some time ago that Windows Mobile that should havea field in an entry in Calendar where one should be able to enter a phone number or have the option to copy a number from the Contacts in order to phone when the Calendar entry falls due. Does not neccesarily mean that it should be a number in your Contacts. Instead of having to remember the phone number then shift to the phone in order to make the call, so much easier to just press on the number in that field and dial automatically.
Of course, the same should be for the reverse: I am in Contacts and want to make a calendar entry concerning the contact that I have accessed.
Food for thought, eh?

It would be great if both Agenda One and Pocket Informant worked with HTC's Touchflo Calendar. When you want to edit an event it goes straight to windows even when you select Agenda One to be default.Tuesday, December 1, 2009 12:55 PM

Funny you should mention Agenda Fusion. I bought Agenda Fusion a couple of years ago, used and trashed it. I have an HTC Touch Cruise and with the Fusion installed the PDA is slowed down to snail's pace. It's also very gawdy, too many colours and so noisy to look at. I tried it a second time after reading someone's suggestion and trashed it once again. I like Contact's and Calendar's simplicity: They need to pointed in the right direction. It can be quite frustrating.Wednesday, December 2, 2009 7:44 PM
