My site dissappeared after permanent redirect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Back in 2005 I created a website under the domain www.englishmonterrey.com in order to promote my English language teaching.  The site was in Spanish and almost immediately appeared at the top of the listings on MSN searches for relevant keywords.  In May of this year I changed the domain name of the site from www.englishmonterrey.com to http://www.englishmty.com and did a permanent redirect.  Within a week my site was listed under the new domain on both Google on Yahoo, but disappeared totally from MSN and Live, and has never been seen since.  At the begining of this month I finally removed the redirection and actually lost the domain englishmonterrey.com so now the site is just named englishmty.com.  Despite resubmiting the site several times it is listed in live searches.    Using webmaster tools I can see  banned, but only the index page is listed.  The site continues to appear on the first page of both Google and Yahoo with keyworhttp://www.google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=cursos+de+ingles+monterrey&btnG=Buscar+con+Google&meta=ds such as cursos de ingles monterrey

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, you are not ranking well with the new domain name. I suggest reading our crawling and ranking blog post .

  • Hi  I read the information on the link you said.  I can't see where it mentions that domain name is important.  My site's content didn't change when I made the redirect to the new domain name, however the ranking on live went from number one position to completely off the scale.   So my content must have been relevant and correct before the name change and after it was irrelevant and incorrect according to Live's algorithms   The site is still on page one of both Google and Yahoo eg: Classes de ingles monterrey
    http://www.google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=clases+de+ingles+monterrey&btnG=Buscar+con+Google&meta=
Whereas the same search on live gives
    http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=clases+de+ingles+monterrey&go=&form=QBLH
and actually produces only ONE link relevant to the search which is,
    http://inglesalaorden.com/
a site which has less value content than my own considering I have a quiz on my site:
