I have been really happy with Live Mesh on my Windows Home Server and my Windows 7 computer. The specific problem I needed to solve was syncing between some important folders and the shares on the server, and it seemed to work.
However, I've run into a big problem: Live Mesh fills up the 20 gig partition with large files, mostly photos and music, in the Holding Area folder that resides in the Application Data for Live Mesh. I don't really have the option of making this partition bigger. So my question is, can I locate this file on another partition? Or is there something not working correctly with Live Mesh?
No, you can't move the Holding area. The fact that data is residing in there means that Live Mesh is detecting conflicts during Sync and is awaiting your action to resolve those conflicts. Note, also, that although Live Mesh can be made to work on WHS as you've found, it isn't supported on that platform. -steve~ Microsoft MVP Windows Live ~ Windows Live OneCare| Live Mesh|MS Security Essentials Forums Moderator ~
