Live Mesh failing to start after February Updates

Question
-
Early this morning (2/10) after installing 6 updates (5 Important: KB978251, KB890830, KB975560, KB978262, KB971468; 1 Recommended: KB979099), my system restarted. Live Mesh now fails to start. System restarts are not helping. I will try reinstalling Live Mesh.
In the Event Viewer, I'm seeing: Session "Moe" failed to start with the following error: OxC0000022. My laptop installed these updates this afternoon and does not have this problem. I'm disinclined to uninstall security updates. Besides rolling back the updates, any other suggestions?- Edited by StripetyTiger Thursday, February 11, 2010 3:44 AM Oops. Didn't type a full title

A reinstall would be the way to go. Let us know how that goes.
It didn't happen to any of my machines, but about a week or so back one of my Windows 7 machines encountered that same issue for unknown reasons. A reinstall resolved it. Since the machine is known to the Mesh, the sync settings were retained in my case. If you also remove the machine from the Mesh on the Live Desktop, you'll need to reconfigure the sync settings for each folder as offered to the machine on sign in through the client.

The reinstall straightened it out. I removed the machine from the Mesh and setup the folders again.
When you reinstall, do you uninstall Mesh first, or just do another install over the top of the existing install? I had some weirdness with the uninstall. I had to change my account to an Admin account before the uninstall would go. I didn't get a UAC elevation prompt, but the uninstall would seem like it was progressing until it just stopped and returned me to the Control Panel.Friday, February 12, 2010 3:09 PM -
You would typically want to uninstall, then reinstall. And this needs be done with Admin rights - it won't work with elevated privileges.
Glad to read that you were able to resolve it.
