Need new XP Pro Cd Keys.
A few years ago I went a Microsoft Event, can;t remember which one because I go to all I can, and I received a free copy of XP Pro nor for resale or OEm Distribution. But I lost my CD Key. I have been on Vista since I bought Ultimate and 2 Home Premiums with the family pack. Now I have two New PC with Vista 64 bit.
I have 1 program that will not work in Vista 64 so I was thinking of using my XP Pro CD in Virtual PC 2007, but I need the CD Keys. Looking at the replacement website microsoft has they say you must have proof of purchase, which I do not because it is a version that cannot be sold. So how would I get new CD Keys?Sunday, September 20, 2009 11:21 PM

Sorry. there is no way to recover or replace your Windows XP product key if you lost it. The product key should be on a sticker affixed to the packaging containing the CD.

But can I get a replacement CD? Looking at MS website they sayyou if you can provide proof of purchase, however since I got a free copy that is NOT for resale or OEM distribution I think I should be able to get a replacement disc by sending in the one I have to MS and them sedning me a new one.Monday, September 21, 2009 3:35 AM

Hello Broggy69,
If it says that you can get a replacment, on the Microsoft site, it should also give directions on how to do it.
The Forums are not the correct place to get a replacement because even if I could provide a key, I would have to post it on a Public Forum were Anyone could see it and possibly use it.
Thank you,
