  • Hi pzicafoose,

Windows: My analysis of Diagnostic Report tells me that your Windows XP Media Center is a legit and Genuine install. Could you describe the issue that you are having with validating your Windows XP?

Office: The bad news is that currently, your computer has a Volume Licensing edition of Office Pro 2003, and that installation was done with a (now-blocked) Volume Licensing Key (VLK) ( see Line 29).  VLKs are blocked by Microsoft at the request of the original key owner for such reasons as the key was lost, stolen, compromised, misused, or expired.  Also, MS may have blocked the key if it notices a pattern of misuse, (i.e. more installations of Office using that key than authorized). As a rule, VLK editions of Office should not be sold to individual consumers.  Businesses, schools and gov'ts normally use VLK editions for flexibility in installing many computers. The current installation of Office is an unauthorized installation.

I would suggest going back to your retailer (or the person/company that installed the Office) and demand a legal install of Office, that you paid for.

    Thank you,
    Darin Smith
