Dependencies Not Available in On Premise RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed a solution on CRM 2011 Online. This solution has customizations of the Lead form. The lead form is dependent on

Competitor (All Competitors(summary)), Type = View
Connection (All Stakeholders), Type = View
Lead (Form), Type = System Form

I have added those dependencies. However, now that I am trying to import that in CRM 2011 On Premise with Rollup 13 I get the warning:

The following components (the ones listed above) in this solution require you to install the latest product updates, which are available only in the online version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. To continue installing the solution anyway, select the check box. Note that the solution may not work as intended. For more information, see Help.

    * How can I fix these warning?

    * If there is no fix then will it break my solution?

  • The CRM Online instance has the Polaris update installed which includes the new Process-driven UI. This also includes many additional attributes that have been added that do not exist in the On-Premise version of CRM.

When you export a solution from CRM Online, you need to run it through the Down-level tool to create a solution that is compatible with on-premise installs. You can find the down-level utility in the latest version of the SDK. You can download the SDK from http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=24004. Check this too http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/library/jj945276.aspx

  • Thanks. I saw that doing this downgrade could also make my plugins break. Considering this I think I will setup an on premise development environment and redo the updates in my solution.
