Build automation tool for .Net solutions/projects RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all!

I am working on a project where a lot of the development is done using .Net. The work is split up in many Visual Studio solutions, each containing many projects.

The solutions are built on a central server.

The challenge when building solution B is to get the latest and greatest resource files from solution A. In the Java world this is achieved by using Maven. I have looked at nMaven, but it is not ready to use yet.

Other possible solutions are use of file copy tools that trigger on a new file event from the OS, but this is not a preferred solution as we will not be able to have meta data on the reserouce file. I.e. we don't have version number, time stamps and like information for our resource files (dll's).

We use IBM ClearCase as our source code control system.

Anyone has a suggestion for a tool or method for how to do this?
