Links to Individual Posts in thread RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I was just thinking if every post in a thread can have its own link. This comes handy when referring a unique post in other posts.

Also, major use of this feature can be done in alerts. Right now clicking on an alert opens thread in a browser window but if thread has LOTS of posts, its hard to find newest post. If each post has unique link, alert can focus that post for us. For this, you dont even need to have links. if you make it like
    <a name=post1></a>
    -post 1 here-
    <a name=post2></a>
    -post 2 here-

you can provide alert links as
    forums/en-us/forumname/threadID#post2

    that will do I guess..

    Thanks

C isn’t that hard: void (*(*f[])())() defines f as an array of unspecified size, of pointers to functions that return pointers to functions that return void

  • Thanks Omie,
We do have this on our backlog but it hasn't had a high enough priority to get to, so I don't think we'll be able to get to it for a few months at least.
