All subfolders duplicated in mesh web desktop RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I just signed into the MESH web desktop and in one of my folders all the subfolders one level down have been duplicated. The duplicates contain no files, just empty folders. These duplicate folders do not appear on my local machine.
I tried to delete the empty duplicate folders on the web desktop  and I get a message saying this feature is not availble.

How did this happen in the first place and how can I get rid of the empty duplicate folders?

    Thanks,

    David

  • How many PCs are in your Mesh? Did you check that the duplicates do not exist on any of the connected PCs?
When you say that they are duplicated, do you mean you have two copies of each folder in the top level Mesh folder? Are they exact duplicates - that is, the exact same name?
What do you see in the News list for that top level Mesh folder? Any conflicts in need of resolution?
Did you remove a PC from sync with that folder and then add it back to the Mesh?

The only way to delete the folder is to delete it from a PC that has the same empty folder shown that is synchronizing with the top level folder.

  • Thanks for the info Steve,

I was able to fix the problem. One of the people I was sharing the folder with removed the folder and then readded it, they then uninstalled MESH. I was able to fix the problem by going thru all the conflicts (21 conflicts, one for each duplicate). I wasn't aware the resolve conflicts feature was there.

    Thanks again,

    David

  • Excellent. Glad you solved that mystery. :-) That's one of the dangers with sharing a Mesh folder with someone and granting them rights to make changes.
