Please verify my account so I can put a url in my question

    Question

  • Hello, I signed up yesterday and I can't put a url in my question. I get the message which seems to have plagued lots of people, "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account.".

I've read that this behaviour is intended to reduce spam but I don't think it's reasonable, I've typed the non-machine-readable characters and clicked the link in the email I received. That seems to be enough for every other forum.

Please do whatever you feel is necessary to "verify" my account, thanks.

  • Just to add that the 2 urls I want to put in my question are to msdn.microsoft.com, so you aren't even allowing me to put in urls to your own site. So it's not as though I'm trying to send people to a dodgy site or sell them viagra or anything.
