    Hello,

I ran a piece of software and immediately afterwards I got a Genuine Advantage Pop-Up. My VLK is blocked and it looks like my Office VLK is also blocked. There is a  valid CoA sticker underneath the laptop for XP Pro. I was wondering if I can try to insert this licence key or should I be trying to acquire a recovery disc from Toshiba?

Also if I attempt a key change and it fails will my computer still function until I am able to acquire a valid copy of Windows XP?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Mike

  • Use the Windows XP Product Key Update Tool which should work fine.  However, Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 is also counterfeit and should be uninstalled and replaced with a genuine Microsoft Office suite.

  • Hi Carey,

    Thanks for the assistance.

I tried the product key update tool and received the following message. "The product key could not be activated on your computer. This may be due to technical difficulties or network connectivity issues."

I don't seem to have any network problems, but am unable to determine if there are any technical difficulties.

I tried to go through microsoft support but was unable to find any relavent information or means to contact further support.
