Cannot Validate Windows / Counterfeit software running?

Question
-
We're using a new desktop PC, less than 6 months old. It came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium and everything was fine up until about a week ago when something happened and now there's the "This Copy of Windows is Not Genuine" message in the bottom right corner. I've followed the trouble shooting links but nothing seems to resolve this. It won't let me validate, an error message just pops up that says the software may be counterfeit. I ran a diagnostics report as instructed:

Hello Eydie67,
The Licensing Data section of the Diagnostic Report isn't showing the proper information which suggests the Licensing data may be "messed up" in some way. First thing I suggest is (as bertmace26 posted) to change the Product key to the COA SLP key listed on the sticker on the side or bottom of the computer. You can do this by Clicking the Start button, righ-click Computer and select Properties. This will bring up the System windows. At the bottom of that windows should be the words Change Product Key. Click that and follow the directions. Changing the Product Key will usually causethe most of the Licensing files to be updated with the change which can sometimes correct inconsistant Licensing Data.
If that doesn't correct the problem, go to http://microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Windows button and follow the directions.
-If the Validation result is Non-Genuine, tell us the exact message the site gave you.
-If the Validation result is Genuine, are you still seeing Non-Genuine messaging now?
Thank you,

I dont see anything wrong with it bios marker is right. Look on the back of the tower you will have a coa key sticker on it type the key in and see what happen or use the restore disc to do a factory refesh install like when you got itTuesday, April 13, 2010 7:42 PM

Wait for an MS response before doing a factory restore. Right click on the taskbar, select task manager, once it comes up click on the services. Now loog for a service named sppsvc, the discription will say "software protection". That service should be running. If it isn't then type services.msc in the search box and hit enter, scroll down until you find the one called software protection, click on it, right click, select properties, make sure it says automatic (delayed start), click on start, then click OK. If the service fails to start let us know, Darin Smith (board owner) the board owner may have other instructions or be able to connect you with the right tech support people.
Thanks
Carl
