Changing username in MS CRM for a user RRS feed

  • Question

  • I understand there is no other impact on changing the username (domain logon) in CRM for a user except:

    1. Created By/Modified By/Owner on all records where it was previous user is replaced by new user. So basically the historical data changes.

    2. Mailbox and Queue on Userp age need to be manually changed.

I am doing this because there is no way to delete a user in CRM, and disabling the user doesnt serve my purpose. I want to altogether remove the current user from the system. And I guess the only way its possible is to change username.

I believe there is no bigger impact. Just trying to be extra sure. If anybody has done this earlier, please share the experience.

    Regards,

    Yogi

  • Hi,

There is a script, which delete a user from database, but it is unsupported by Microsoft:

To delete user, you should manually delete all links to this user from other entities.

Also, you are able to change old user to a new user, as you written:

In old user change login, name and mailbox entity and other data manually.
