I would like to weigh in on OneCare being able to select drives that are defragged and tuned up. I have a Netgear SC101 that I use as a univeral backup but can't because it is considered an internal drive, who ever thought that wasn't too bright.
But the thing I would like not to happen is for it to not be defragged, it doesn't respnd well to external formatting. I really don't want OneCare defragging my external USB drive.

I agree on the need to select drives for Defrag or not.
Have you seen the workaround for using an internal drive as the destination for Centralized Backup? http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2582583&SiteID=2

I second the motion: I see absolutely no value in Tune up trying to defragment my external backup drive or the HP recovery disk D:. Defrag offers to select the drives, why not do the same with OneCare?Monday, May 19, 2008 8:48 PM

Add my name to the list of those who want to disable defrag. Or at least have OneCare smart enough to realise it's trying to defrag a SSD.Saturday, May 24, 2008 8:33 AM
