  • I don't know the answer to this, nor will you get an answer from Microsoft until they are actually ready to announce something. You can, however, submit feedback to state your desire for this.

  • The last thing I heard about Mesh was that it was eventually going to be dropped.  I too think it's awesome and use it all the time, however, it competes with other sync technologies that MS have.

Good news is, that I also heard it was being rolled into Windows Live, wave 4 ... still to be seen though.

  • Mesh is at the core of Windows Live Sync 4. It is not dropped :)

  • Hard to believe there is still no Android version... What with Froyo being out and all the tablets and everything...

Seems like Windows is 6 months behind in their phones and with their web software.

I looked at that sugarsync and it looks good... Might have to give the trial a shot.

  • Not only is there no Android version, PastorVor, the Live Sync beta does not include any mobile client at this time.

  • What the heck is "Live Sync" ... it looks to have the same functionality as Mesh? (except there are no MOBILE apps... kinda defeats the purpose)

    Where is this going?

Live Sync was once FolderShare, which was purchased by Microsoft and re-written and released as Live Sync as part of Windows Live. Live Mesh was developed in house and used a completely different platform. Live Sync has again been re-written to use the Live Mesh technology. It is currently available in the released version and the beta version (the latter using the new back end environment). Live Mesh as it exists today in beta is going away. Live Sync beta will be renamed to Windows Live Mesh. The release date of Windows Live Mesh and the end date for Live Mesh and Live Sync is not yet known. I assume that the current Live Mesh beta environment will be shut down some months after Windows Live Mesh is released. None of the 3 platforms talk to each other, all being different environments. Eventually, only Windows Live Mesh wil exist. Live Sync never had a mobile client. Windows Live Mesh (Live Sync beta) does not yet have a mobile client, though we expect that one will be developed, based on the vision of the original Live Mesh.
