Is it possible to use project standard to open a project in server and print it RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it not possible to open a project from server using project standard just to do a print?  If not, does anyone know of a way/tool that can do this without project pro 2010?  We have a number of users that only need to print infrequently for meetings, etc.

  • No you can not connect to PS 2010 using Project Standard, but you can take print of your Project from PWA as well.

Open your Project under Schedule web part in PWA. Then go to "Options" tab and click "Export to Excel" link to export your Project into excel and from there you can print your Project.

    Hope this helps you.

Thanks and let me know in case have any questions.

  • Hi Cletus,

It is NOT POSSIBLE to use project standard to connect to Project Server. You need to have the Professional version.

The solution is for the project owner (so that has project pro) to save the project file as a pdf or mpp document and send it to the appropriate recipients.

    Hope this helps.
