Dynamics CRM 4.0 Calendar and Contac synchronisation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Is it possible to synchronize Dynamics CRM calendar and contacts with calendar and contacts of a Lotus Domino system or another messaging system ? In this case, is it required to use an Outlook client ?

    Thanks for your answers

  • The Dynamics CRM Client for Outlook synchronizes CRM items (such as calendar and contacts) with Outlook items only. So if your Outlook folders are connected to an Exchange server then CRM items will end up in your Exchange Mailbox. If your Outlook folders are personal folders and you are using a POP3 based mail system then the CRM items end up in your Outlook personal folders.

You could write your own synchronization system between CRM and Lotus perhaps. :)

  • Hi Bob,

Out of the Box it isn't possible. You can find a several 3rd party tools to synchronized Dynamics CRM and Lotus Domino (including Contacts).

You can also develop own functionality if you have possibility to do this.

  • This answer is a bit delayed, but may still be useful.

I recommend you to consider the Agile Dynamics CRM to Exchange Synchronizer (DXSync). It provides server-side integration between Dynamics CRM and Exchange. Integration includes synchronization of Contacts, Meetings, Calls, Tasks; Archiving emails; special scenarios to replicate and create items like Opportunities and Cases from your email client. This solution works without any client-side plugins. No need for additional configuration of standard mobile or desktop email clients (Outlook, Entourage, Mac Mail, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, etc.).

Free trial version is available for download so you can try DXSync before making a decision.

If what you need is one-time synchronization, then trial mode may be enough to get required results.

  • Give the Agile Dynamics CRM to Exchange Synchronizer (DXSync) a try. DXSync provides two-way synchronization of Contacts, Accounts, Leads, Meetings, Calls, Tasks; Archiving emails; special scenarios to replicate and create items like Opportunities and Cases from your email client.

You can now choose between On-Premise and On-Demand (cloud) server-side synchronization of Dynamics CRM and Exchange.
