Windows 7 activation after reinstalling RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey I had to reinstall my OS, quite sure my OS was genuine before reinstalling (Checked via My Computer > Properties and could run microsoft programs like security essentials etc) . Ive just reinstalled it and now it says my product is invalid. I bought this pc second hand from an auction site, there was no sticker on the case so I used a 3 different key finder tools to obtain my product key all of which provided the same key.

  • If there is no COA sticker on the case, then the machine is not licensed for Windows, unless you have purchased a Retail License.

This machine was built in 2004 - and therefore could not possibly have shipped with Windows 7 installed, which is a requirement for using the OEM_SLP Key.

You will have to purchase a genuine Windows license, and clean install that.
