Several years back my hard disk died on an old Sony Vaio. After installing a new hard disk a friend volunteered to install his XP Pro for me and, as I was in a bind and am living in Japan (Not many English versions floating around), I let him. He also installed in on my (at the time) newly purchased Toshiba Satellite, which only had XP Home.
Long story short, they both failed the WGA check so I purchased TWO backup CDs, figuring it was the right thing to do. The problem is that I have not received the updated product key, nor is it affixed to the back of the CD case.
Where did you purchase the 2 backup CDs from? You may order the original OEM media from the manufacturer. Below is the information.
